- King of the Mountain - Peter Snell, Bill Baillie and Murray Halberg have all participated in the running race in the past. The event includes a team wheelbarrow race to the summit of Maungarei Mountain (Mt Wellington). As well as the team wheelbarrow race which was the original race we now include 5km, 11km and 21km (half marathon) run.
