Milford Sound Fiordland

Milford Sound is part of the Fiordland National Park which is a World Heritage Area and the largest National Park in New Zealand. Milford Sound is 2 hours and 30 minutes drive from Te Anau the largest town and regional centre of Fiordland, or 5 hours from Queenstown. The Milford Road from Te Anau to Milford Sound through the Homer Tunnel (1.2 km long) is one of the world's finest alpine drives. It is also possible to fly into Milford Sound.

Once you have reached Milford Sound there are several options when it comes
to taking a cruise or scenic flight over the Sound. There are short and overnight
cruises out into Milford Sound. On a cruise of Milford Sound you will get a
close up view of Mitre Peak, Striling Falls, and some of the wildlife (dolphins,
seals, and penguins) that lives in the Milford Sound.
