Milford Sound is 2 hours and 30 minutes drive from Te Anau the largest town and regional centre of Fiordland, or 5 hours from Queenstown. The Milford Road from Te Anau to Milford Sound through the Homer Tunnel (1.2 km long) is one of the world's finest alpine drives. It is also possible to fly into Milford Sound.
