Le Race - the South Island's largest cycling event
starts in Cathedral Square and finishes in Akaroa. A great course
with spectacular views.

Akaroa Frenchfest - a celebration of Akaroa's
French history and heritage - includes films, music, local food,
wine and family entertainment.
The New Zealand Walking and Adventure Festival is held around the Canterbury region on the 1st and 2nd April 2006, it includes guided walks and a number of adventure activities such as Jet Boat rides, horse riding, and rafting
